Start off Spring with an AC Unit Tune-Up
Spring is here, and it’s just about time to start using the air conditioners in Georgia. You should be able to use yours without issue when the time comes to turn up the air. The best way to be ready is to have an inspection and tune-up of your air conditioning unit. These seasonal checks help ensure that your system is running properly and that there are no red flags that would prohibit your use of the unit. Here’s what you can expect from our tune-ups.
Check the Filter
One of the very first inspections made to your AC is the filter. It is so important to switch out or clean your filters on a regular basis. Clean filters allow the necessary amount of air to come into the system to help it work well. When the filter is filthy, it makes the unit have to work extra hard to suck the air through.
Look for Leaks
Our technicians check the refrigerant levels in your air conditioning unit to see if they are normal or low. When they are low, it indicates that there may be a leak. Low refrigerant would cause a problem with how efficiently your air conditioner is able to cool the incoming air. If any problem were detected in this area, some investigative work would be done to find the source of the leak and fix it before replenishing the refrigerant.
Inspect the Wiring
We also examine the wiring to the unit to see that everything is connected correctly and that nothing is loose or showing any wear. If an issue is detected, we make the necessary adjustments and repairs.
Clean the Ductwork
When necessary, we clean your ductwork and vents to make sure there are no blockages preventing the flow of air. We also want to clear out dust, dirt, pet hair, and other debris that has collected and settled inside the vents. This will provide clean air for your home.
